Suit Up! One of the many memorable quotes of Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) of the hit US comedy 'How I Met Your Mother', as he tries, once again, to smarten up his series buddy Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor).
Barney must be one of the most sartorially well dressed male characters in any sitcom, seldom seen out of a perfectly tailored bespoke suit. He has a suit for every occasion, most memorably his suitjamas!.
Legendary and awesome, in his own words, could well be how to describe his taste in suits.
From a crisp, lightweight mohair day suit, to an impeccably accessorised dinner suit, Barney certainly knows how to cut a dash on and off set.
And as he quite rightly says, in his pursuit of the fairer sex, 'A well tailored suit is to women what lingerie is to men!
Even dressing down, Mr. Stinson still looks awesome!
'How I Met Your Mother' is one of America's most popular prime-time TV shows. Framed in the year 2030, it's about a father telling the story to his children of how he met their mother back in the early 2000s, so for all intents and purposes, it's a modern day situational comedy show.
Along with protagonists Ted, Lily, Marshall and Robin, actor Neil Patrick Harris plays the other main character of Barney Stinson. Stinson's got a pretty big role in the show, but is mainly known for one sole catch phrase: 'Suit Up!'.
Taking a closer look at the character's tailoring style, it's quite clear to see that he loves the slick look. Slim, tailored fitting suits, with a crisp shirt and often skinny tie form Stinson's normal attire. To say that he uses this smooth image to his advantage with the ladies in the show would be a bit of an understatement, but I think we should leave it just there for now! Below is an example of Barney's impeccable tailoring choices:
