Now we do write good blogs here at A Suit That Fits, but there is nothing more rewarding than a client taking the time to write in to let us know he enjoyed reading our blog. We do blog very consistently about people of influence in the fashion stakes, and one gent features quite prominently.
We recently saw Mr Barlow receive his Gong from the Queen, and noticed a striking similarity to the A Suit That Fits design pictured left. Ladies and Gents, I give you Andrew. Andrew was married in this beautifully tailored tailcoat , designed in W1001A cloth, with a Cream coloured lining. Single button fastening , with standard width peaked lapels. This was an elegant look for his big day, and Andrew matched this with a beautiful White silk waistcoat and tie . Now we can all see from the picture that Gary Barlow OBE is wearing a blue shirt , with contrasting white collar, but the similarity in these outfits is evident by the use of the tie bar by both gents.

Judging by these pictures (and the fact that Andrew collected his outfit in July 2012), it would seem that Andrew is the style leader in this case! Congratulations on your nuptials Andrew. I wish you a long and happy marriage.

With the whole country gearing up for the diamond jubilee all eyes are on the Royal family and here at A Suit That Fits we have an extra special interest in the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate Middleton is a great example of how tailoring can enhance your potential, both visually and socially.
On a recent trip accompanying the Queen to Leicester Kate Middleton wore a very stylish skirt suit. With the belt emphasizing her small waist and the layers around her hips giving her small figure a more hourglass shape. Kate not only looks stunning beside the Queen but she also gives the impression of a worthy companion. Another perfect example of the Duchess of Cambridge looking great in tailored garments is that of the coat that she wore to meet the Irish Guards. Kate donned a navy blue double breasted coat dress with three quarter length sleeves and a short mandarin collar. The dress like overcoat was ultra fitted with a high neckline to keep it demure.

Kate Middleton is also a great advocate of mixing up tailored garments with more relaxed items. She was recently photographed wearing a heavy woollen three button jacket . It had slanted flapless pockets with a curved edge. The Duchess team this fitted piece with a relaxed patterned scarf and a beret at a jaunty angle. I perfect outfit for a royal.

It seems that Kate has really settled into meeting and greeting the nation and with a wardrobe to match she's definitely giving ladies tailoring the thumbs.

If you are going to attend any of the main events this year such as the Cartier International Day, you want to pull out the sartorial big guns and look your best.
To really embrace the summer, I would opt with a light pair of trousers, in both colour and weight, and match it with a blazer in a contrasting colour such as navy . A linen fabric will work wonders in this situation. Its wrinkled texture looks more casual than wool, yet in a tailored cut will look smart and crucially it will keep you cool in the heat of the day.

If you are set on wearing a suit, follow Prince Charles' lead below and go for a light tan cotton or linen . Forego the tie and go with a blue shirt to keep it casual. Pop in a pocket square in a contrasting colour in silk to add variety of texture to the outfit and you're ready to go.

If you're feeling extra adventurous, pair your outfit with a pair of suede chukka boots who take their name from the sport of polo.
