As is tradition, the royal family visit the world famous tennis tournament in Wimbledon every year. This year was no exception, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Kate and Wills) paying a visit yesterday. They watched Andy Murray go through to the semi finals and William certainly won in the tailoring stakes.
The very well tailored suit , pictured above, has slanted pockets to bring William in at the waist. He is also wearing a white shirt and matching white pocket square that contrasts the suit, along with this he has a very light grey silk tie with an embossed pattern. William tends to stick to blue suits, as this matches his colouring best and this particular colour is great for summer.
We've a very similar wool silk blend cloth, if you'd like to replicate William's Wimbledon suit, below.
This cloth is a light weight, so perfect for the warmer summer months and has a slight sheen - like William's suit.
Last year William went for a much darker navy fabric for Wimbledon. As seen below.
This suit is, again, a two-piece and has a ticket pocket on the right side. He has paired the dark suit with a light blue shirt , stark white pocket square and a red tie .
If you're heading down to Wimbledon yourself, then I would suggest going slightly more casual - unless of course you're in the Royal Box! Although there is no strict dress code, I would go for a similar look that one would choose for Henley - blazer and chinos. I particularly like the trimmed preppy blazers that the staff have to wear at Wimbledon. Below is an example.
