Perfect suit alert: Viggo Mortensen dons a stunning three piece suit for the upcoming thriller The Two Faces of January. Against a backdrop of ancient ruins in Turkey and Greece, the movie creates a beautiful mosaic out of Mortensen’s cream suit and Kirsten Dunst’s complementary yellow frock. To be honest, I had to ask myself if Viggo’s suit is really cream or just a very pale yellow – and I’m still not sure.
Set during the 1960s and telling a story about deceptive Americans in Europe, it’s appropriate that the film features a suit with such a gentlemanly feel. The “old world” aesthetic is achieved thanks to a three-buttoned jacket, a six-buttoned waistcoat, a matching sunhat and some classic shades. Combine these with a retro tourist guide and you’re golden – or rather, cream.
What better way to bring out the essential creaminess of cream (or pale yellow!) than a sky blue shirt and navy tie? Cream and blue go together as well as… well, yellow and blue. All these colours are perfect for summer – and even more perfect for wearing in countries like Greece where the heat is so intense. Click on “Get the Look” for a cream-coloured linen suit.
