Meet Harry Kenward, style advisor at our West End of London studio.
Working out of the heart of London, Harry offers classic tailoring with a modern twist. Above all, he makes sure his customers always look stylish.
South East London to the West End
Bespoke tailoring and style advice run in Harry’s veins because he grew up from a young age working for A Suit That Fits.
Hailing from South East London, Harry has lived his whole life in London and knows the city’s style needs like the back of his hand.
“I started as a young apprentice with A Suit That Fits,” he says. “During my time here, I’ve learnt the trade from various different tailors. That’s how I built my career as a style advisor.”
One thing Harry’s noticed during his time as a style advisor in London’s West End is the preference for fitted suits. Being a city boy himself, Harry can relate to the desire for the tailored “look.”
“Most of the style I see in London is the City look,” he explains. “A lot of people of any shape or size want a suit that’s fitted to them, their shape, and their silhouette. The modern style is generally fitted. You see a lot of that in London these days.”
Of course, you’d expect an A Suit That Fits style advisor to impress with his own style – and Harry’s wardrobe doesn’t disappoint.
“My style is three piece – absolutely, three piece,” he says, “quite slim fitted, nice and tapered. I go for a modern suit, meaning bright colours like electric blues and light greys – something with a bit of character that will show off my personality.”
A Suit That Fits’ unique shopping experience
Harry knows that A Suit That Fits offers services you can’t find at a convenient price elsewhere. This includes full suit customisation and one-on-one style advice – factors which create a truly unique shopping experience.
“What you get at A Suit That Fits that you can’t get elsewhere is personal shopping,” he explains. “You have your own individual style advisor. They introduce themselves and go step by step through what you’re looking for, answering any queries you have. Any questions, they’re more than capable to answer.”
As well as personal attention, A Suit That Fits offers total customisation of your garment. This is most evident in the enormous number of combinations available. As Harry points out: “We’ve got a million combinations that you just can’t get elsewhere. The options are endless.”
Harry’s tailoring strengths
The West End receives a variety of customers and bespoke tailoring requests. Besides business suits and wedding suits, the studio sees a high demand for separate items like casual blazers, chinos, and tailored sports coats.
“The studio is in the heart of London in the West End, the fashion district of London, so we get a mixture of customers,” says Harry. “We get corporate customers, wedding customers, customers who just love suits and come in to buy one for the sake of it. We get a lot more variety of customers in the West End.”
The diversity of garments created in the West End means the style advisors who work there have to be knowledgable about a lot of different styles. Harry’s favourite type of suit to design and create is the modern business or city-style suit.
“I like designing business suits myself,” he says. “For me, it’s all about having class or putting a bit of a twist on it, making sure you stand out from the crowd. Something that gives you the wow factor should make people look at you in the street and ask where you got your suit. We get a number of referrals that way.”
