When Dame Helen Mirren stood up to receive her Icon Award at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night, all eyes were on Ryan Reynolds’ suit. Okay, that’s an overstatement. What I meant to say, of course, is that my eyes were on Ryan Reynolds’ suit. Because, surprisingly enough, Reynolds seems to have made the slim-fit, three-button suit his signature look. I’ve written about the three-button suit’s big comeback before on this blog – and Reynolds here seems to be riding the crest of that particular trend’s wave. Perhaps he’s discovered that the three-button “look” with its higher jacket gorge just suits his long, slender frame better than a two-button suit. Whatever the reasoning, he’s really selling the look – to me, at least. Actually, he’s fast becoming one of my most admired fashionistos.
Reynold’s attention to detail here is another great aspect of his style. As you can see, every detail of his look has been chosen and placed to perfection – from the glimmer of his white pocket square to his contrasting, striped, brown tie to the correct amount of white shirt cuff emerging from his jacket. His suit’s striped navy fabric makes a good change from solid colours – and if you like what you see, I’ve found the perfect fabrics for you in the A Suit That Fits range. Our fabric range contains 23 striped navy fabrics from worsted wool to corduroy. Click on “Get the Look” to be taken to our gallery of samples.
