One of my favorite books as a teenager was Che Guevara’s Motorcycle Diaries. Along with Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady’s endless road trips across the great American plains, I thought there was nothing cooler at the time than the young Argentine doctor and future revolutionary’s journeys through Latin America visiting people too poor to receive medical care.
Now we can add British soccer player, David Beckham, to that illustrious Kerouac/Cassady/Guevara list: the BBC has filmed a documentary about Beckham motorbiking through the Amazon rain forests of South America. Beckham was interviewed about the documentary this week by Michael Palin, one of the recently-reformed Monty Python members.
Beckham looked his usual dapper self for the interview, wearing a slim-fit navy jacket, a skinny navy tie and dark pants.
Judging by the pictures, the jacket had a rather strange fit when buttoned-up. I’m referring to the lumpy effect on the front of his jacket (see below): what is that?
Other than that odd detail, he looked great and I love the “suit separates” look, especially his decision to mix navy with dark grey or black pants.
Looking for a navy tailored jacket? A Suit That Fits sells a pre-designed jacket perfect for mixing with contrasting pants. The “Draper” features a slim, notched lapel, flapped pockets and two buttons. Click on “Get the Look” to check it out.
