Golf is something of a gentleman’s pastime, but style is not exactly a priority for Tiger Woods, the world’s most famous golfer. When he sticks to his baseball caps and Nike polo shirts, he looks perfectly respectable on the golf course. But when he ventures into sartorial waters, he begins to look downright shocking. For some reason, he displays a strange tendency to wear wide “kipper” ties with small knots. He often pairs these with unspeakably baggy pin-stripe suits, contrasting-collar shirts and jackets with notched lapels that sag halfway down his chest, all examples of exactly how not to dress.
Take his appearance at the famous “confessional” press conference in 2010 when he wore a shirt with an oddly raised collar (i.e. fresh out of the packet) and a blazer that hung on his frame like a wet blanket. There really is no reason for Woods to look so bedraggled, especially with all his wealth: he just needs to talk to a style advisor. A better-fitting jacket with less width in the lapels and a shapelier tie would immediately improve his appearance. In the meantime, he better stick to his polos and slacks.
