When, as a woman deciding to wear a suit there is one of two ways to go, both of which have merit. There is of course the hour glass 1950’s pencil skirt look which is, and probably always will be, very popular. I do feel though that the androgynous tailored look has long been over looked.
It is a look that has been sported by Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne no less and if done right can look not only striking but have far more of an impact than the normal skirt suit.
The trick is to get the styling right. Go as masculine or as feminine as you feel comfortable and remember; Fitted does not have to be feminine and dressing in a boyish tailored look does not mean you have to look like a sack of potatoes.
Think square angular shapes rather the curves and don’t be afraid of shoulder pads in jackets or high collared shirts with ties. This is a look that can look amazing and really pack some punch.
